Patriotic Canvas Class

This is another mixed media canvas that I created for the LBH summer classes.  It's 11" x 14" and features the Authentique "Pride" paper collection along with their patriotic papers from last year. They coordinate so perfectly - love their papers!

This canvas combines fabrics, art metal, paint and paper in a fun red, white and blue project.

If you'd like to join us in class, contact the LBH at 817-431-7930 to sign up.

"Bee" True to You - Mixed Media Canvas Class

Here's another class I created for the Little Blue House.  I love making mixed media canvases and this one has lots of different media, including fabrics, paper, gesso, paints, ink, stamping, embossing and wire!

I just love these little bees.

This is a really fun class so come join us in Keller, TX, if you can!

New Summer Roadtrip Layout

I designed this double-page layout to document a special road trip.

I added real car keys for embellishments.

And old maps to cover the little journaling tags in the pockets.

I also cut the title from old maps.

This little "waterfall" element adds space for six extra photos and is a fun, interactive addition.

If you're interested in taking the class, call The Little Blue House at 817-431-7930 to sign up!

New classes at The Little Blue House

I can finally share some of the projects I've been working on lately!

This is the first of several class projects I designed for The Little Blue House. (They will be taught through the summer.)  It's a larger version of the patriotic starbook I made last year. I used the gorgeous new patriotic paper collection from Authentique called "Pride." I just love the weight, feel and, of course, the patterns of Authentique's papers!

The book has fourteen pages with space to add  4" x 6" photos. I love how the starbooks look fully opened - perfect for displaying for the holiday!

It's Graduation Time

When we moved to Texas and our old neighborhood 14 years ago, our then 12-year-old was one of the oldest kids in the neighborhood. Now all those little ones are grown and graduating from high school! I wanted to do something a little different than a gift card tucked in a card so, of course, I turned to Pinterest!

This is what I created from a similar idea found there. The original creator had made a cute printable for the top of the can, but they were the wrong colors for this school, so I just used punches and hand-wrote the sentiment.

I had the most fun rolling up those dollar bills and filling the bucket! You can never go wrong with cash!

What I've Been Up to Lately

It's been very busy here the past several months. We've been getting ready for the Stitch Craft Create Live Convention at the Arlington (TX) Convention Center this weekend. The Little Blue House has a  booth (yes, it's a little blue house) and we've been designing projects and kitting night and day! (Not to mention that we are still teaching classes every week and had our summer Open House with all new class projects last weekend!)

The annual scrapbooking convention started on Thursday and runs through tomorrow, Saturday.  So if you are local, I hope you will stop by to see us. So far, the response has been amazing and we are very excited to expose even more people to our creative projects.

But it will also be good to have our homes and the store back to normal! This is what my kitchen table has looked like for days with all the prepping. And I wouldn't dare show you my guest room - every horizontal surface was needed for the sheer numbers of paper and embellishment piles! Even my husband commented that we needed a bigger house.

Here's a peek into the back studio at the store - tubs and tubs of layouts and minibooks getting sorted for transporting to the convention.

So, hopefully after this weekend, things will get back to normal around here and I can blog more frequently.
