February Steampunk-themed Altered Trading Coin Swap

The theme for the February altered trading coins swap is "steampunk."

These are the coins I created and sent off to my partners.

I used a painty background and stamped the woman's face on a piece of ivory yardstick and lightly colored it with colored pencils. I added it to a painty background and glued on lots of metal gears.
I made the turquoise and rusty red ones by using alcohol inks to some of the silver ones. I edged the coins with a copper pen.

I think steampunk is a hard theme so I can't wait to see what I receive in return?

May Altered Trading Coins

The theme for the monthly ATCoin swap was flowers or happy birthday. I chose to do flowers - the coins are similar but not identical. I used gelli-plated papers for the background, added floral images from a magazine and added word strips.

I received these two:

from Linda - watercolored 3D flowers

from Pam - embossed with chalk coloring and lots of metallic

And here's a photo of my ATC book halfway through the year. I am pretty sure it will never close with all 24 in there!

The theme for the April Altered Trading Coins swap is "butterflies."

These were the two coins I made.

Alcohol ink background with script stamp, collage images,
"fly" stamped on tissue paper, gold Krylon pen edging

Another alcohol ink background, collaged image and title, tiny
metal clock hand for butterfly body, silver Krylon pen edging

I can't wait to see what I receive!

More Altered Trading Coins

Remember my altered trading coins for a swap that I shared in this post?
I have now received two back from my swap partners. The theme was "love"
and I think they both are perfect.

The first one from Kris uses one of my favorite vintage images.

And the second from Teresa was decorated both front and back. I'm not sure
which is which as they are both really nice.

This will be a monthly swap for the entire year and then we will be creating little
books to display them in.
