Introducing...

our second little grandson - Drew Gregory Grisham - born Sunday, July 8 at 12:25 pm. He was 7 lbs. 10 oz. and 21 in. long.

He had a rough start. Dana was experiencing hard contractions when she was admitted to the hospital. When they started her IV, the baby's heartbeat plummeted and they rushed her in for an emergency c-section. She had to have a general so she wasn't awake for his birth nor was her husband allowed in. 15 minutes afterwards, he was delivered!  He was having trouble breathing so they immediately put him on oxygen. His white blood cell count was high also so they put him in the NICU. He's on antibiotics for the unknown infection and won't be able to go home for 7 days.

Dana was also on oxygen for a few hours, but she is up and walking around now and doing fine, other than being disappointed she won't be able to take him home when she is discharged tomorrow.

Other than his IV on his head (ouch) and wires attached to his little feet, he looks perfectly healthy. He has good color, is feeding and sleeping well and seems like a very mellow baby. He has lots of dark hair like his Mom did as well as her chubby cheeks!

It's so surreal to see your daughters with their own babies! I can't wait til the family is all home and we can cuddle and love on this little guy.
