DLP unPlanner - May Week 2

Here is the weekly spread for the second week of May.

It was a fairly quiet week - no babysitting for a change!

I decided to do another Dare 2B card this month. I chose the words "patient" and "positive." We are about to leave on a 2 1/2 week adventure and I will need lots of patience and positive thoughts!

Our former exchange student's sister and her husband are arriving on May 22 in Orlando and we are meeting them there. They will visit the Disney parks and we will visit some friends there for a few days. Halfway through the week Kelly, Josh, Carl and Mitchell will arrive and stay for a few days to go to the beach.

We will leave there on May 27, all four of us flying non-rev(!?) to Washington, DC for a week. Dana, John, Drew and Grant will spend that week with us touring DC.

Then we will fly to Albuquerque and drive the Brazilians up to Colorado to see the Rocky Mountains.
Whew! You can see why I'm hoping for patience and positive thoughts with so many people and schedules involved.

For this month's Dare 2B card, I used collage paper for the spine, lightly watercolored the page and used the "waste" edge of the circle sticker sheet for the right side embellishment. A few stamps finished it off.

The art challenge for the PAC this week was to use underpaper - the scrap paper you use to keep your work table clean or clean your brushes on. Usually this is thrown away but I like to keep many of mine as they end up so pretty!

Here's the card with the under paper adhered to it.

And here is the finished PAC. I added a few splotches of paint with a brush; stenciled with turquoise, purple and white paints and stamped with black. I doodled with black and white pens and used a portion of a Dyan Reaveley stamp for the sentiment.

I'm sure I will fall behind in the next several weeks due to the traveling. I am taking a small notebook to document the days so I won't forget and can transfer the information to the binder when I return. But I still will have a lot of catchup to do! And I hope to check in here sometimes.

DLP unPlanner 2016 - March Week 2

With all the babysitting and travel we've been doing lately, I seem to get behind in posting my weekly planner spreads on the blog, but I am keeping current with it.

March - Week 2
Art Challenge - Add leaves, real or drawn
Dare 2B card with list/word

For this week I continued using the horizontal format and printed on kraft card stock. I added artist paper for the "spine" and the scallops and stamped green circles and white flowers here and there. The tiny green felt bow clip is from the new Illustrated Faith line with Bella Blvd.

For the PAC card I drew a maple leaf with an orange oil pastel crayon (which is not water-soluble) and then filled the leaf with green and yellow watercolors. The background is also watercolor. Very simple but I did meet the art challenge.

I added this PAC with the first week's card to a page protector that I cut in half. I used washi tape on the spine and sewed hand-dyed ribbon to the top of the pockets. (Sorry for the glare on the plastic.)

Last month I didn't do a Dare 2B card so this month I decided to add one. My word is Grateful and  I listed and journaled about five things I am most thankful for.  The divider is a row of tiny square stickers which I doodled around. The five headings are strips of artist paper which are glued over the printed headers.

Documented Life UnPlanner Project - Week 2

UnPlanner Week 2 ( Jan. 9)
Monthly Theme: Going out on a limb; Trying something new
Create a "Dare 2B-----" Card using a word or action to focus on for the month
Week 2 Prompt: Choose quote and cover all but one word
Add a list

I printed out the weekly calendar page on white card stock and used some "under paper" to decorate the Sat. and Sun. areas as well as for the scallops. I added a photo of Mitchell for the days we babysat.

Dare 2B card - front

Dare 2B card - back

I printed the Dare 2B card on kraft card stock and added my word for the month: KIND. I used an artist paper (one of those included in the Somerset Magazines that I've collected for years!) for the back of the card as well as the scalloped edge and the spine. I machine-stitched the edges and added a quote and dragonfly stickers on the back.

PAC card

The week's prompt is supposed to be used on the PAC but I misunderstood and just used my word ("Be Kind)." (Hey, it's an unPlanner and we can do what we want!) It was made with several layers of paint, stamping and more dragonfly stickers. The PAC is like an ATC card and is actually the same size - 2/5" x 3.5"- either horizontal or vertical.

List - (and pocket front)
This week we were to add a list of some kind so I printed one of the downloads titled Awesome Stuff. Since this was the week of CHA (Craft and Hobby Association trade show), I decided to list some of my favorite products that were revealed at the show. I also created a pocket out of another artist paper from Somerset (I think those are going to come in handy!), folding it in half and sewing around
the edges.

So far I am really enjoying this year's project. The planner is already getting filled with fun, colorful pages and I'm looking forward to more weeks and establishing a "groove."
