We Have a Winner!

Using my very sophisticated drawing system, I put the names of everyone who commented on my blog this past week in a bowl.

And drew Goldie's name! Congratulations Goldie, you have won the Tim Holtz messenger bag!

Please leave your e-mail or address on this post and I will get the bag to you asap.

Thank you all for visiting and taking the time to leave comments. As always, they are very much appreciated and let me know that at least a few people are reading my posts!

1001 Posts and a Giveaway!

I just realized that yesterday's post was post #1001! How can that be? It seems like yesterday that I started this blog, mainly as an "art diary" for myself to keep track of projects I'd made and to share them with my family and a few friends. I had no idea I would keep at it or have enough to say in 1000 posts! Or that I would have almost 150 followers! Who would have thought...

I want to thank everyone who follows this blog and those who occasionally read it but don't follow me! It's knowing that you are there and hearing your comments occasionally that keeps me going! I love your feedback.

As a real thank you, I am going to do a giveaway. I have this great Tim Holtz messenger bag that was a Ranger exclusive at CHA 2013. I've been saving it for something special and that time is now.

To be entered to win, please follow my blog if you are not already a follower and leave a comment on this post (or any post in the next ten days). Let me know what you like about the blog or what you would like to see more of. On April 29 I will put all the names into a "hat" (I'm not techie enough to know how to do that computerized selection!) and draw a winner!

Thanks again and here's to another 1000 posts!

100 Followers Giveaway!

Yippee! Can you believe it - my little ole blog now has 100 followers! When I first started this a few years ago, I had my doubts that anyone would visit my blog. I figured my family would look at it occasionally, but it was mainly for me - to document my art journey.  And then something wonderful happened - people started finding me and gradually I've gained 100 loyal followers!  I feel truly blessed by all the wonderful people I've met through blogging and I appreciate all of you who read and comment on my little corner of the world-wide web.  It is so uplifting to know that there are other like-minded souls out there and to be encouraged with your feedback.

So, in honor of this milestone, I will be doing a giveaway! I will take all comments from this post and future posts through August 15 and then pick a random winner.  Tell me what your favorite post has been - or what kind of posts you prefer.  Haven't got a prize yet but will get that figured out and post a pic soon.

Let me hear from you!

Front Porch Kits Featured on Practical Scrappers

Practical Scrappers featured our Front Porch Kit, One Sunny Day, on their Thursday post here.  Check it out and have a chance to win a free kit by becoming a follower of their blog as well as the FPK blog.  I love the projects that they made with the kit - additional inspiration for anyone who has bought the kit and it's always fun to see what others do with the same supplies!

A Beautiful Gift

Look at the gorgeous necklace I was gifted with by my friend, Kristen Robinson.  Kristen makes beautiful jewelry and lovely journal pages.  I first saw her work in the Somerset magazine special issue "Somerset in Love" a few years ago and then met her at CHA in Jan. 2008.  She was very sweet and took some time to chat with me about her journaling.  Then this year we happened to be standing in line for the make-n-take at the Ideaology booth and she remembered me!  She is a Somerset "bon vivant" and has been published in their magazines many times.  Her work graces the cover of the latest issue of Somerset Life and her first book will be published sometime this summer.

I had commented on her blog for a giveaway near Valentine's Day. I didn't win the giveaway but received this beauty instead. I love it and will treasure it always.

Here's a closeup photo of the pendant (hijacked from her blog as I couldn't get a focused close-up).  She swiped a bit of white paint directly on the back of the glass and sandwiched a tiny felted heart inside.  Love, love, love it - THANK YOU Kristen.
