More "gifties" from the 12 Days of Christmas Swap

We went out of town for Christmas week and just returned this evening. (More about our awesome week later.) I've just opened the remaining 7 gifts from my online group's 12 Days of Christmas swap - such fun to return to some handmade gifts!

Darling ornament by Liane C.

How cute is this vintage-looking snowman by Joan W.

Beautiful and useful notebook by Jeri A.

Lovely altered Altoid tin by Gwynn (love that the snow is
a piece of styrofoam packing material!)

Gorgeous tag and embellished chain from Nancy
Adorable double-sided ornament

Clever lipstick pouch with "Chicken Poop Lip Junk";
love the cute reindeer packaging

These were the gifts I made for everyone. I started with a mousetrap and originally planned to use it as a note holder using the "trap" to hold a notepad. But when I primed them for paint and stood them all up with the "traps" opened, they looked like little freestanding frames, so I changed course and created standing vintage Santas. I had planned to search the Internet for printable Santa images, but found the perfect Santa in the perfect size on pocket-size Christmas tissues in the $1 bin at Michael's. They even had 8 Santas per tissue!

I decoupaged the tissue images on the back side of the mousetraps, painted the "fronts" of the traps which were now the backs of my project, stamped a sentiment on the front, edged with gold Krylon pen and tied a gold bow to the top. You would never know they were lowly (and inexpensive) mousetraps!

Love them all but my favorite is most definitely the vintage snowman by Joan. Yummy!

LOVE your frames, Susan - great job.

Happy New Year!
