November's theme is: Changing Seasons - Redefining Priorities

For the month divider I used the November one from the Bo Bunny packet, colored the borders with gelato and added a pocket from the Bo Bunny "Calendar Girl" paper line. I used an old tag I received from a swap and colored it heavily with Distress Inks and Heirloom Gold spray mist. I added the title for the month with a Dymo labeler.

I used the monthly view already on the back of the divider, again coloring the borders and adding some stickers and washi tape. I punched small maple leaves out of painted paper for the dates.

I am leaving for Albuquerque to babysit again this evening and will be gone for several days. I will try to upload and post about the first week's spread.

DLP unPlanner - September

It's been another two weeks since I've posted. I stay busy enough to seem to avoid blogging! Keep saying I'll do better... We did babysit the two boys from Austin (ages 4 and 15 months) for four days and my husband has also been laid up with a bad bout of sciatica so those are my excuses!

The theme for September's DLP is "Roll Call - Being Accountable."

This is my monthly divider, using the Bo Bunny divider that was in the kit, along with a pocket and tag as I've done each month.  I use the tag to add the month's theme. I used similar colors of Distress inks for the tag and embossed the three hearts in white. The ribbon is hand-dyed.

On the back of the monthly divider is the monthly calendar.

This is the first week of September.  I'm using the kraft calendars this month.

The PAC art challenge for the first week was "Add an Organic Element." I used a previously painted card and stenciled a leaf in white. For the organic element I wrapped a stick from the yard with a fuzzy fiber and tied it to the top of the PAC. The words are very old clear stickers.

Here is the weekly view for the second week. The dates are an exclusive stamp set by Rae Missigman for DLP. I love it but it only goes to - luckily I was able to make "eleven" from the "seven" stamp.

The art challenge was to stitch on the PAC so I used a section of a "mop-up paper" for the base and added gelli print circles for the flowers and book page leaves. I machine stitched all in place and hand-stitched the tiny yellow circle of dyed paper towel in place.

And this is the third week, the week just ending. I used pink and yellow paints on the background but it turned out pretty dull because of the kraft card stock. I then used a small chevron roller stamp and white ink to lighten it. The dates are written on little banners punched from security envelopes.

The PAC challenge this week was to make marks in black and white over a colored background.  This background is painted with several colors; then I stamped the flowers in black and added white and black doodles throughout. Adding black and white marks to any project really makes it pop!

The List Ten for this month is to list 10 things you hope to gain as you grow older.  I printed the "list TEN" template on white paper and secured it to kraft card stock. I added colorful artist paper and colored hole reinforcers to the spine and border-punched the right edge. For the bullet points I used the centers of colored hole reinforcers. On the back I randomly stenciled a few colors and added some random items laying on my desk! I love being able to use up "stuff." Finally, I added paint splatters in pink and orange.

Catching up on August DLP unPlanner

I'm a little late getting to my August month divider.  The theme for the month is: "And Then Again, No - The Power of Saying No."

I used the Bo Bunny divider for August that was in the DLP kit and watercolored some of the chevrons in the borders. I watercolored a black and white dotted paper and sewed it to front of the divider. The pocket and title is made from a Bo Bunny "Calendar Girl" paper collection I had bought which has one paper for each of the months. 

The tag was "built" on a kraft card stock using many layers of paint and stamps.  I typed the theme and added it to the tag which I have done for all the previous months. The ribbon is hand-dyed with Distress ink.

The reverse side of the divider is the monthly calendar. Again, I watercolored the chevron border and used tiny hexagon number stickers from The Reset Girl for the dates. I added cupcake washi tape on all the days of birthdays this month. And there are a lot of them! My oldest daughter, her boyfriend, my son-in-law, my husband, my husband's favorite aunt and I all have August birthdays!

And, last but not least, is this week's PAC. The art challenge was to create a self-portrait. Uh, no, don't think I can draw that! So I decided to do an image transfer of a photo of me as a toddler. The background was a painted piece I'd done for something else so I grabbed it and did a transfer with gel medium. Unfortunately I only had gloss medium and I prefer matte, so the result is a bit shiny. Also, the face transferred onto green and a bit of purple paint so it looks like I'm a bit sickly with a Rudolph nose. But I'm going with it. The butterfly was from a piece of wrapping paper.

This definitely isn't my favorite PAC, but ...

DLP unPlanner - July

It's the beginning of July and I'm current with my planner! So glad to be finally home and able to work the week while it's happening.

The new theme for July is: "I Vote Yes - Saying YES to New Experiences"

I don't always keep to the theme but it's nice to have a starting point. For the July divider page I went with red, white and blue - love these patriotic colors and what better ones to use for July?

I used another of the Bo Bunny calendar dividers and added a portion of a Bo Bunny July paper for the center. I also used a journaling card for the pocket and stamped various-sized stars randomly over the background. I colored in the border with a marker slightly diluted with water.

For the tag I inked a star embossing folder with red ink and ran a manila tag through the Cuttlebug. The ink transferred to the tag without a lot of fuss! I added an image and star cut from a vintage design journaling card, two self-adhesive ribbon strips (very old!) and stickers to spell "YES!"

I used the back of the calendar as it was, also coloring the border and adding a striped piece of paper for the spine, some washi, stickers and stamps. This is still a work in process since there are still several weeks to go.

I didn't want to use a full weekly view page for the first three days of July so I used the pocket from the divider that I had cut off. I divided it into three days on the front and then decorated the back with stickers and paper cutouts. This is adhered to the left spine of the next week's page as a tip-in.

Week of July 4 - 10

I printed this week's page on kraft card stock and decorated it with red, white and blue stickers, paper, stamps and washi.

PAC

The art challenge for this week's PAC was to add texture in any way. For the background I repurposed printed color name strips left over from a box of upholstery samples my daughter had given me. This hardly shows now but with mixed media you never know where the process will lead you. At least I know it's there!  I then colored this with Neocolor II water soluble oil pastels and added texture paste through a stencil.  Next I dripped red acrylic ink from the top down and added white crackle paste through drywall tape. I tore a heart from a fibrous, handmade paper and tied on an old Jenni Bowlin cardboard button with baker's twine.

The new prompts will be posted tomorrow and I'm ready!
