A Long Day at CHA

Our day started really early - we actually arrived at the convention center at 8 am, thinking the show opened then. But, they didn't open the doors until 9.

Look who I spotted almost immediately - Tim Holtz! He graciously posed for a picture though he was just walking the show before he started his demos.
We were just finishing our first make-n-take when the fire alarms went off! Can you imagine a huge convention center filled with women oogling craft items and papers and "stuff"? It took two tries with the alarms and then an announcement to evacuate. Here is Tracy of Create Joy Workshops (see our cool new t-shirts?) with Cheryl and Megan of Ten Seconds Studio during our fire drill - never did find out why we had to go outside.

Claudine Hellmuth was demoing at the Ranger booth. She is just as cute in person and has some fab new products. I love what she's doing with her sticky-back canvas, paints and medium,

Look at all the new Ranger embossing powders to match all the Adirondack colors.

Here's the new Adirondack Fillable pen. This looked really cool when Tim was demoing - you fill the pen with an alcohol ink refill and just "paint" the ink on your project. The pen is double-ended with a larger brush tip and a fine point tip. The only problem I can see is that you would need one for every color and that could get expensive!

So, this is what we did at the end of the day. Someone told us to put our feet in ice water to reduce the swelling and de-stress. We couldn't quite do the ice, but we did try cold water and it did feel great! More tomorrow...
